Na’au, translates to “guts: of the heart and mind: in Hawaiian. This concept was created by Chef Brian Hirata, as a direct result of him following his own gut instinct!

Meet Chef Brian Hirata

Chef Hirata, is a 2023 and 2022 James Beard Foundation Award Semifinalist. He was named one of the 10 change-makers in America in Departures magazine in October 2020.

A year after launching Na’au, chef Hirata dedicated his life to preserving Hawaii’s food culture while progressing the local cuisine through thoughtful presentations.
